adam fixing laptop

Few weeks ago my 3.5 year old son had a small accident and keyboard did stop working, it was OK, I did manage to fix it a bit so it was working to some extend, just few keys had to be pressed extra hard (D and S were two of them which were the worst performers). Then last week we had another small accident where my son unintentionally broke LCD display, he did hit it with his protective plastic glasses, well screen did break and it was just horrible. So I did find online a store where I did order LCD display for only $99 (requested matte finish but unfortunately got this stupid glossy display which I truly hate.), also did order keyboard as well as it was around $15. This morning both items arrived and we decided to fix our laptop.

INDY 500

February 27th, 2009 1 comment

Almost a month ago I had a pleasure to drive INDY 500 racing car. Let me tell you, what an amazing experience, one in a lifetime, it was so worth it even thought it did cost $399 + TAX for just 8 LAPS. Amazingly this car had no instruments like speedometer or rpm or anything, it just had on/off switch, starter and gears which were set for the high gear only, imagine breaking such gear shift? It had 3 pedals, very small tiny steering wheel and almost no space to move. If you big or claustrophobic don’t even attempt to get into such small tiny space. It was around 5PM that we got on track and drove those toys, sun was quite low but it was quite warm and comfortable, no rain, just perfect driving conditions. Track is 1 mile long, triangular shape, and had just 8 lapses, first round was just to try to feel this car, but then I had gas pedal pressed almost to the floor, on curves it was handling so nicely at high speeds, it was just amazing, never ever did I experience such amazing driving. Instructor was driving ahead of us, more or less showing us the path, even with such great car handling abilities if you rook a curve at wrong approach you could end up someplace unpleasant. Amazingly they had no accidents so far, but they are there in Orlando since November of 2008, so they are quite new. Anyway as I said, it is quite worth to try it, after all how often can you afford to drive such expensive racing car. They also had NASCAR driving, but we took a ride along with the race driver, that was quite nice experience as well.

This is the car that I had a chance to drive at Orlando’s race track:

Pioneer officially leaving the TV biz by March 2010, focusing on audio

That is a very sad news, Pioneer made best plasma TV’s ever with darkest black on the market. It was my dream to won one but it was quite expensive, still is but maybe no more, prices on all famous KURO plasmas are dropping, so maybe its time to own one? Well still expensive, when I was looking on pricegrabber.com for KURO tv’s they are still quite expensive… :( I am quite surprised by Pioneer decision to be honest. If they just made their technology just a bit more affordable they would be able to sell those plasmas like there is no tomorrow, but then again, all LCD’s prices dropping and display sizes growing, slowing down economy world wide is just putting them in trouble… Oh well, I’ll still keep looking for my own KURO and even that I might not be able to find parts for it anymore beyond past 2010 I think it might be still worth it to own one…

Anyway what am I looking in TV for? Well I want it all, I want a lot of inputs and possible outputs, I certainly want network, don’t care if it is wireless or wired, and I want it to be 1080p for sure, best if its truly 120Hz display. :)
