New York Beaches Closure

August 21st, 2009 1 comment

What a joke, I live in New York for over 20 years, I did live trough few storms, just few days ago waves were so strong and beaches were open, all of a sudden today they are closing the beaches? Took vacation from work for two weeks, its my first day, wanted to go to the beach with my son and all of a sudden some crazy unimaginative komunist Mr. Adrian B. closes beaches? What the heck, no wonder why people chose to go to Mexico or other destination to spend their vacations rather than waste their time to go here down in NY. Losers, why don’t you enforce curfewmaybe, it will be easier to control people and then it will be even easier to compare you to communist regime… Water dangerous, what are you smoking? Yes, if idiots do go swimint without imagination its their problem… but not even be able to wash my child in the ocean and get ticket for that, no walking in the Ocean? Not even getting water splash on your feet? How can I explain to my 3 year old that some crazy person decided to close beaches and he cannot get to the water? How to deal with situation like that? They do not worry about things like that, bastards. New York you suck, Mr, Adrian, you blow, Mr. Mayor, you suck, you have money, you are filthy rich, you can afford your private stupid pool, so you do not care, but people cannot afford things, rich asshole, so we can only go to dirty ass beaches, and no we cannot even get into ocean? I cont care about swimming, but not even to get your feet wet its just going beyond stupidity and its ridiculous…

Cydia on my iTouch just stop working

August 15th, 2009 No comments

Few days ago my Cydia stop lounching, did not care for a while but today it did anoy me a bit, so I started to look around, here is what I had to do to fix my problem with Cydia on my iTouch.

I did ssh to my iTouch. I’ve read to reinstall my cydia, so I did try to remove it but I did get an error, and it pointed to one of the repo Packages, so I did move it to tmp directory since it was a file. I did not know what to do with it, but it seems like it was just an html file. Then I did start cydia and it worked, so that was the offending file that caused my problem that prevented cydia to start.

# apt-get remove cydia
Reading package lists... Error!

Opsware Core unable to communicate to agent running on Symantec PureDisk SuSE server.

August 12th, 2009 No comments

Having issue to talk back to Symantec PureDisk SuSE server, port 1002 is closed on PD firewall (iptables). To add this as an exception do the following

1)login to PD server
2) cp -p /etc/puredisk/custom_iptables_rules /etc/puredisk/custom_iptables_rules.orig
3) vi /etc/puredisk/custom_iptables_rules
4) add the following entry
# protocol (tcp,udp,tcmp,all) source[/mask] port
tcp 10.10.10.1 1002
# where 10.10.10.1 is your Opsware CORE IP
5) make the permament change based on the edits and restart firewall
sh /opt/pdconfigure/scripts/installers/ChangeIPTables.sh
6) confirm changes by running iptables -L and make sure that port 1002 for TCP from your core server is there.
7) then go to opsware web gui and run communication test to reestablish your connection back.

Thats it.
