Converting Database Files to Use Quick I/O
Wow, this subject seems somewhat out of place and it is, but nevertheless friends stumble on this problem; the problem of converting your existing database files to use the Veritas QIO ‘filesystem’. I wrote this text over one year ago, for internal use at work, but now I thought that I should post it on my site.
You can convert your existing Sybase database files to use the Quick I/O interface by using the qio_getdbfiles and qio_convertdbfiles commands. These commands are special utilities provided with the VERITAS Database Edition for Sybase (or Oracle) product:
qio_getdbfiles extracts a list of file names from the database system tables.
qio_convertdbfiles converts the list of database files to use Quick I/O.

Sun Case ID 64669952 – Network issue
Dear Mr. Chris,
Further to our earlier telephone conversation, please find attached a
copy of the netinfo script which when run on the system will gather
information from the system to assist with problem diagnosis. Please run
the script as root user and return the output to me.
As mentioned on the telephone it is essential that both the settings on
the switch and the interface are matched or you will encounter problems.
If auto negotiation is used on the interface it must be used on the
switch also.
The script I mentioned for configuring your interfaces at boot time is
also attached ( S68net-tune ) instructions for installing the script are
below and also in the start of the script.
# 1) cp S68net-tune to /etc/rc2.d
# 2) perform edits on the script as required
# 3) chmod 744 /etc/rc2.d/S68net-tune
# 4) chown root:sys /etc/rc2.d/S68net-tune
# 5) ln /etc/rc2.d/S68net-tune /etc/init.d/net-tune
